The Heart of Nosferatu is the soundtrack for a version of F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu edited down to the core of the story: Hutter's journey to Transylvania, his experience in the castle, and Ellen's encounter with Count Orlok. While the music is inspired by the soundtracks of early 20th century horror movies, it also incorporates more modern musical expressions along with elements of Romanian folk music. The album features Colleen Bertsch on violin, who was recorded at Waterbury Music by Reid Kruger.
